Congratulations on your new Refined Roots extensions! Our hair is ethically sourced and custom-made for you. To keep it looking salon-fresh for months, please follow these essential care steps.

1. The Golden Rule: Sulfate-Free Only

Standard high-street shampoos often contain sulfates (SLS) and sodium chloride, which strip the moisture from extensions, causing them to mat and tangle.

• Do: Use professional, sulfate-free moisture-rich products.

• Don’t: Use "protein-heavy" or "keratin" rebuilding products too often, as they can make extensions brittle.

2. Washing & Drying

• Wash: Only wash 2–3 times a week. Always wash your hair with your head tilted back—never over a sink or bath, as this causes tangling at the roots.

• Condition: Apply conditioner from the mid-lengths to the ends only. Never apply conditioner to the bonds/tapes, as this causes them to slip.

• Dry: Gently pat dry with a towel (do not rub). Use a hair dryer on a cool-to-medium setting. Never leave extensions to air-dry, as damp roots can weaken the bonds.

3. Brushing & Styling

• The Brush: Use an extension-safe loop brush or a wide-tooth comb.

• The Technique: Hold the hair at the roots and brush from the ends upwards to minimize tension on your natural hair.

• Heat Protection: Always apply a heat protectant spray before using tools. Keep your styling tools below 180°C.

4. Sleep & Lifestyle

• Sleep: Never go to sleep with wet hair. Before bed, brush your hair and secure it in a loose low braid or ponytail to prevent matting.

• Swimming: We recommend avoiding chlorine and salt water. If you do swim, coat the hair in a leave-in conditioner and braid it tightly. Wash immediately after.

• Chemical Alteration: Our Signature Pure Raw Collection is 100% unprocessed and can be custom-coloured, bleached, or toned, but this must strictly be performed by a certified salon professional. Our Signature Virgin Collection has already undergone gentle factory colouring; do not attempt to bleach or lighten virgin pre-coloured pieces, as any home chemical alteration will instantly void your quality warranty.

• Professional Fitting: Ensure your extensions are fitted and removed by a certified professional.
